Classic submission fighting taught in the kimono (sold at the gym). The Open Sparring Gi Program is run by specialist instructors who so happen to be some of the best current practitioners in the world. Open Sparring is notorious in the BJJ community for our unique style and consistent performance in local open mats and tournaments. Blending old school fundamentals with new school innovations from high level international competitions, attend this class to attain detailed knowledge on how to defend yourself (in the street or in the gym) and how to string together effective submission attacks from dominant positions and unique control points.
With the mainstream rise of mixed martial arts, No-Gi BJJ has seen a massive surge in recent popularity and can be studied as an entirely separate practice with its own conceptual systems, techniques and principles. Any traditional gym that still only offers an 80/20 split in Gi/No-Gi classes is doing their members a disservice and likely has an agenda to force extra gi sales onto students. We also don't wait until you are a Brown Belt to study heelhooks and leglock entanglements. Jump in this fun class to learn how to wrestle, control and submit an opponent without the kimono.
Freestyle and Greco-Roman (upper body) Wrestling sessions to complement our No-Gi development. We aren't only ground fighters, everyone learns how to be well rounded for every situation. Learn how to take someone down effectively to set up your guard passes and submission attacks.
The best way to start your weekend - visit the gym at this time to casually drill, roll or hangout with other members of the community. Coaches on-site to answer questions and help with technical problems.
Open to all levels and compulsory for anyone registered for an upcoming competition. Led by one of our senior Brown Belts, come to this session with drills & techniques prepared and be ready for hard tournament style rounds to get your body fit and conditioned to compete.
